DPP Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Student Association for Arts, Culture and Sports (SBO) Iqbal Hafsari assessed that the fall of hundreds of victims in this incident had an impact on the blurry face of indonesian football and Indonesia seemed to fail to reach the country’s sports industry.
Iqbal said “the proper standard of the sports industry occurs if the competition is held professionally and spectators get a safe and comfortable service. While this standard is not apparent in the organization of the country’s football”.
In addition, as civilians, ordinary people should not accuse each other under these circumstances and blame each other. Because we all don’t know what the whole event was like. This means that we must respect and wait for the results of the investigation team conducted by the fact-finding team.
Iqbal emphasized that this incident should be a momentum for overall improvement. For the audience to build brotherhood, stop unhealthy hostilities and rivalries. For the PSSI federation, the momentum for introspection and improvement of the quality of human resources and improvement of the quality of competition governance. And for the country, this is a momentum to show the seriousness of paying attention to sports ranging from decent infrastructure and so on. Many stadiums are technically not yet categorized as safe and comfortable arenas.
“PSSI must really improve the mentality of supporters, medical officers, security officers, media officers, referee officers must be professional and certified not amateurish. Every match must have Match Coordination meeeting in directing what can and cannot be done. The tragedy of kanjuruhan must be used as a momentum for improving Indonesian football. By supporters, PSSI, and the state,” he said.
Iqbal said PSSI did not mean to resolve the unhealthy “thick rivalry” between the clubs as if there had been a disregard so far. Pssi with its strength and authority should be able to mediate existing problems so that the rivalry is only in the field, the rest are brothers and sisters of fellow nation’s children.
“The DPP IMM will seriously oversee the case of this tragedy to the end in revolutionizing football governance with Indonesian supporters, especially Aremania, so that this tragedy event does not happen again,” added the IMM activist.
